New Smartphone App, Fighting Back Against Campus Violence in College and University

The Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA) launches a unique game-based smartphone app to fight against the rising tyranny of campus violence. They are also offering one year’s free subscription of this mobile application service to boost up the students’ awareness of campus violence, be it alcohol abuse or any kind of misconducts against the college and university students.

Dozens of colleges and universities are currently in the spotlight of news media for increasing students’ assault claims, ragging complains and women harassments causing thousands of young students to take a stand countrywide and several colleges and universities to reform policy. However, technology is fighting back too. U of Nine, the new smartphone app, offers the college and university students, employees and the administration the ability to engage in social finer point games on topics like, ragging, intimate partner violence, harassment, violence, and stalking. The college or university administrators can track usage through the app and make use of analytics. Since, the students and staffs can access it wherever and whenever they want, it’s becoming increasingly popular among the young generation.

In recent days, India has faced too many turmoils over campus violence. So many agitation and students’ movements took place in last 5 years, protesting against the increasing incidents of campus violence; intellectuals from all over the world rising voice in the favour of campus democracy. In this very social and political situation, this initiative to make awareness among students is strongly commendable.

Students require more such mobile app services for themselves to fight back against criminal offence. According to the crime report 1 out of 5 women face violence on college or university campus and 3 out of 5 students face ragging while studying in the 1st year of college. UGC directives to colleges and universities advise institutional administrations to take severe action against bullies and wrongdoers on ache of either de-affiliating it in the case of a college or else cutting down economic assistance if it is a university. Besides, the Supreme Court of India took note of ragging in 2001, and now almost every college and university has anti-ragging sales and committees. But still, we have far more to go for the gender sensitization. In this situation a smartphone application service  can widen the smile of the students and help to create a strong awareness against gender harassment in college and university campus.

There are several mobile app development companies in India,  trying to meet the public needs by providing useful mobile apps, some of them are getting increasing popularity among young generation.
